Fireside Chats, Anniversaries, Upgrades and More...
Rhapsody is dead. Long live the (Killer) Queen🎙️
Quicksilver’s initial testnet, Rhapsody, will be concluding tomorrow, after running for almost two months. With 5 deployed versions and 3 governance proposals to expand the active validator set, we have 670 validators testing the zone so far. The team is grateful to all who have participated until now, and we look forward to bringing you our Incentivized Testnet, Killer Queen, this week.
Co-Founder Vish Modali sat down for a Fireside Chat🔥
Earlier this month, co-founder Vish Modali sat down with Billy Rennekamp, Cosmos hub lead at Interchain GmbH, to discuss Quicksilver and its mechanisms, such as reward and risk socialization, and more on the Cosmos Hub Fireside Twitter Spaces. An eventful few weeks in Osmosis 🧪
After deploying its v9 upgrade, the Osmosis chain was brought to a halt after a user spotted a bug that could potentially drain all liquidity pools. Unfortunately, about $5 million worth of assets were drained before the chain’s halt. The Osmosis team was able to resolve the bug and restart the chain, and will also be covering the cost of the lost assets.
Monday, June 20, marked the first thirdening for the Zone. Osmosis’s thirdening, which happens every year, decreases the Osmo token’s issuance by a third. This means that this year, there will be 200 million tokens released, as opposed to the 300 million emitted within the last year. The chain also celebrated its first anniversary—Congratulations to the Osmosis team!
Evmos’s upgrade v5 was Rejected 🧑💻
In a rare occurrence, Evmos’s latest upgrade, v5, was rejected by nearly 80% of its community. This proposal meant to increase transaction speed and solve for recent network congestion through a series of new parameters, as well as resolve outstanding airdrop claims, among other upgrades. The Evmos community and team attributed the proposal’s rejection to bugs found in testing, and have announced that there will be a new version pushed to testnet in the coming days.
